Huckleberry Ridge Batts House Hunting Lodge
The Dr. Dempsey Bryan Batts House is an historic plantation home located on the
Preserve. It was built in 1880 and offers gracious accommodations to those
who hunt with us. Take a look at some of the recent renovations we've
recently completed
in our Photo Gallery,
and if you're interested, read about the history of the Dr. Dempsey Bryan Batts House in this
National Register of Historic Places document
(Adobe
Reader required). Capable of accommodating up to 16 people, the house has five bedrooms,
each with their own fireplaces. There are two large bedrooms downstairs,
one with two full beds, and the other with a queen poster bed and it's own full
bathroom. There are three upstairs bedrooms, two of them are large rooms
with two full beds in each of them, and the other room has a queen bed and a
full bath. The den or great room is furnished with oversized leather
furniture and has a fireplace and a 48" flat screen digital television with
Direct TV. We'll also be hooking up Wi-fi soon for our guests convenience.
The kitchen is everyone's' favorite with two tables that can seat
a total of 10 people comfortably. It has heart pine cabinets and the
original wood stove everyone loves to sit around. It has all the modern
cooking conveniences and comes fully equipped with everything you need to cook
your own meals. However, if you’d like, arrangements can be made to have
meals provided or there are restaurants nearby.
